Jim Muhwezi on Army TakeoverThe president and Gen. Aronda warned of a possible military/army take over if rowdy politicians do not change. However, Rujumbura MP Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi last evening said he would oppose any attempts by the army to take over power.

Muhwezi, while addressing journalists yesterday at Parliament said that he is against the army take over. Despite being one of the guerilla fighters who fought in the 1980 – 1986 bush war alongside President Museveni and others, Muhwezi insisted that “a coup cannot happen in Uganda and I will be among those who would oppose such a move”.

Several opposition leaders came out and warned against the military takeover which many Ugandans say will not be necessary because the country is led by the military.
