The Anti Corruption Court has granted sh60m cash bail request for city tycoon and business man, Hassan Basajjabalaba.
Basajjabalaba appeared before the Anti Corruption Court to apply for bail after spending two nights at Luzira Prison. He was arrested as he tried to fly out of the country on Wednesday at Entebbe Airport.
Today, he has been granted sh60m bail in addition to his sureties’ cash of sh4b. Among his sureties are his two brothers, Ssekabira Basajjabalaba and Nasser Basajjabalaba and two other unidentified people. He has been asked to deposit his passport at the court to stop him from trying to fly out of the country.
Basajja is being accused of forgery and tax evasion.
