The  Minister  of Education and Sports ,Jessica Alupo has confirmed that government has already secured a loan of UGX.290 billion that will help facilitate infrastructure development at all public universities.

Minister Alupo said that this loan will boost the development of infrastructures at public universities including ,Makerere University ,Gulu  and Kyambogo among others.

She said that Makerere University will take the big share of UGX.77 billion since  it is the mother of other universities and other universities will share the rest.

For long most public universities have been complaining of poor infrastructure  and calling upon government for more funding  .
