The state minister of disaster preparedness Musa Ocweru has said that the government of Uganda in corroboration with development partners are set to help over 2000 land mine victims.

Minister Ocweru said that people who were greatly affected by the deadly weapons in the northern and Rwenzori regions are going to receive medical and financial assistance.

The minister added that this assistance come after both regions were declared war affected areas following 10years of insurgency.

The region was infested with land mines that killed a lot of people during theĀ Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) insurgency.
