Mukono High court presided over by Justice Vicent Zehukirize has sentenced five men to Luzira prison after convicting them with four counts including murder, malicious damage of a vehicle and two robberies.

The convicted include Daniel Ziraba who was the area LC3 councilor at that time, Stanely Katongole, John Sebufu , Sirasi Sambiri, and Amir Kabega all residents of  Makukulu village in Busana sub county Kayunga district.

Prosecution  told court that on August 16, 2009, the convicts connived and murdered Sam Mubiru after assaulting and burning  his body beyond recognition.Court also learned that they  maliciously damaged  his vehicle and robbed property from Sylivester Amuku and Tulyamuleba.

Court has also heard that on the fateful day, the deceased together with his brother one David Nsubuga went to survey their land but were attacked by the mob led by the convicts.

Ziraba has been sentenced to 28yrs on murder and aggravated robbery while the  trio including Sebufu, Katongole and Kabega has been sentenced to 25 yrs each on murder and aggravated robbery as Sirasi has been sentenced to 20years over the same counts because he is HIV Positive.

Justice Zehukirize advised them to appeal if they are not satisfied with the sentences.
