233 people were reported dead in a nightclub fire in Brazil, Santa Maria.

The cause of the fire that killed so many is not yet known although police is carrying out investigations to establish what caused it. The fire which saw many perish was at Kiss nightclub in Brazil, Santa Maria. Of the dead, over 80 are students from a university in the area; 185 have so far been identified and there are more than 90 survivors although most of them were hospitalized due to injuries. The club is known to have held a 2, 000 people capacity.
