The nutrition experts under their umbrella body, Uganda Dietetic Association have today launched a massive national campaign of the first 1000 days of birth teaching Ugandans the dangers of poor nutrition visa vie its benefits.

The president of the dietetic association, Dr.Frederick Kizito said that this nationwide campaign is geared at scaling up nutrition among the local populace however urged government to scale funds allocated to the nutrition department in the life ministry if Ugandans are to have good feeding.

Elsewhere the acting head of nutrition in the ministry of health Mrs Agnes Chandia Baku stressed that nutrition is still a world’s biggest problem which receives least attention adding that 3050 Ugandan children under five years live under poor nutrition status and 56% child mortality is attributed to poor nutrition with 33% children under five years.
