Expectant mothers in Unyama Health centre II in Gulu  are said to be delivering without the help of the medical workers.

This was revealed by the sub county chief for Unyama, Florence Acen who said that the health center has been operating without the help of an  in- charge and the support staff for over a year.

Acen noted that the worst health centre is Lapeta health center II in Unyama Sub County which she said that since the beginning of this year, there has been no staff to attend to patients.

Acen noted that many of the patients especially the expectant mothers have no one to attend to them when taken there.

John Okwonga, the secretary for Health under the Gulu district Local Government when contacted for a comment said that they were looking for ways to recruit more health workers this year in most of the health centres in Gulu.

Rosemary Okilagole the Gulu Assistant District health officer, confirmed that they were already in the process of recruiting medical workers at the beginning of February and post them to most of the health centres.
