Eriya Kategaya the First deputy Prime Minister is not dead ,his family has confirmed .Eriya Kategaya’s daughter told our source on Wednesday morning that Kategaya is recovering from deep venous thrombosis (DVT) at Nairobi Hospital.
Kategaya’s daughter added that he expects her father to be discharged from the Nairobi hospital as soon as possible.
“I am not sure when he will be discharged but we expect him to leave this Hospital very soon. Doctors did not want people to disturb him but at 10:00am today one of us will have a chat with him,” said Kategaya’s daughter.
The report confirms information the reports issued by government on Tuesday that minister Katagaya is not in a coma.
The Minister of Information Mary Karoro Okurut said on Tuesday that Hon. Kategaya is in stable condition and responding well to medication in Nairobi Hospital.
She added that Kategaya felt unwell over the weekend and after consultations with his personal doctors, he was advised to shift to Nairobi Hospital where he is currently under doctor’s observations.
Sources say the minister could be having a blood clot in one his limbs, though government has not confirmed the reports.Several media reports had started whirling around that Eriya Kategaya is dead.
