The electoral commission has  approved the electoral programme for the by-elections of the Butaleja District woman representative and warned against the use of foul language during campaigns.

Badru Kiggundu, the chairperson, electoral commission said  any person identified using foul language while campaigning will be dealt with accordingly.

Kigundu also warned against fundrising activities in the district. We are not going to tolerate any fundraising activities in Butaleja during the by-election because we want to create a leveled ground for all candidates in the race ” The EC chairperson said.
Between January 5 and  6 the voter register update exercise will be conducted  within each parish in the district.The  voters registers will be displayed on Jan 21-30 and voting will take place on Feb 11 at all polling stations in Butaleja District.

Butaleja woman representative seat fell vacant after the death of  MP Cerina Nebanda.
