The Amuru district Veterinary Officer Michael Okidi, has said that they are investigating the spread of Rabies in Amuru district.

Okidi told the press today that his office  received a  report on Monday this week where  8 people have been bitten by the dogs in Kal and Pachilu parishes, all in Atiak sub County.

Tony Okello a resident of Pachilu village in Atiak sub County told Uganda Picks that  4 dogs suspected of suffering from Rabies are wandering in their village day and night.

Okello said that attempts by the residents to kill the dogs have not yielded any fruit.

He also noted that they have decided to use meat laced with poison to kill the dogs instead.
