Hundreds of People flocked Lapyem Village in Laguti sub County, Pader District to witness the Traditional marriage (introduction ceremony) of the Deputy speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.

Jacob Oulanya traditionally married Winnie Amoo at a colorful ceremony which was attended by Ministers, members of Parliament and local leaders from both Acholi and Lango sub regions.

The Minister for Internal Affairs-Henry Okello Oryem and Richard Todwong, the MP for Nwoya district also attended the function in Pader district

All the gusts were cheerful as they danced Laraka-raka, the Acholi traditional courtship dance.

Winnie Amoo, who was first dressed in a Green Gomesi, changed her dress to silver Blue after exchanging their marriage vows.

Jacob Oulanya appeared in Lapyem village at around 4PM dressed in a grey Kanzu and a coat.

He came amidst tight security.

All shoes were left out as an Acholi tradition, to respect the Mother in Law

Nathan Okori Adiyo, Jacob Oulanya’s father thanked the family of Winnie Amoo for accepting the marriage saying that they now belong to one family.
