Patiko Clan Chief has appealed for Development of Fort Patiko also known as Baker’s Fort.

Rwot Jeremiah Bongojane made the call over the weekend while receiving the great grandchild of Sir Samuel Baker at the fort Patiko in Gulu district.

He said that Fort Patiko is a porous Tourist attraction centre which could earn the government of Uganda a lot of money.

The clan chief of also explained that the people of Patiko believe the Fort is their property and they should be given the chance to develop and benefit from it.

Baker’s great grandson, David Geoffrey Baker was tracing the legacy of his grandfather from London.

He also visited Ker kal Kwaro Acholi-the Acholi Cultural Institution.

The military fort  was built by  Sir Samuel Baker and was completed by 1872.
