Pop star Beyonce Knowles will perform at Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony for the second term in Washington DC.
Barack Obama selected Beyonce to sing the  national anthem  and Kelly Clarkson  to perform My Country Tis of Thee during his inauguration on January 21 .

Music star James Taylor will give Beyonce Knowleshis rendition of America the Beautiful.

“Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country,” Mr Obama said during the selection of stars to perform at the great event.

Preparations for Obama’s Jan. 21 inauguration are in full swing: Construction crews are building bleachers and a special seating area for dignitaries.

Military officials are organizing the deployment of an army of National Guard members and active-duty personnel for the parade and other events planned for the Jan. 21 event.

Barack Obama was declared winner of the U.S 2012 presidential election in November after beating his close rival Mitt Romney.
