Bee Farmers in Nwoya district under their umbrella Park site Bee Keeping Association report that they have made a very good harvest early this year compared to other years.
The association chairperson, Justin Onen told Uganda Picks that this year they have harvested over 1,000 Kilograms of honey worth Fifteen million shillings.
“In the past years , we made less than shs5 million per year from selling honey.” One said
Onen said that despite their good harvest, the bee farmers are challenged with lack of capital.
Onen called on the government of Uganda to boost their business since they have begun to get good profit from the bee farming.
“We received six million shillings from Uganda Wild Life Authority to support bee farming and we also called on for support from the government of Uganda”, Onen explained.
