Ashley Judd and husband, Dario Franchitti have decided to call it quits after eleven years in marriage and no child to their name.
44-year-old Judd and 39-year-old Franchitti decided to break it off mutually, no hard feelings. “We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We’ll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed,” the couple said via a statement to People magazine.
They made the announcement yesterday, Tuesday 30th January 2013. Judd is the daughter of country singer Naomi Judd and half-sister to Wynonna Judd. It seems their daily “appreciation exercise” did not work after all. Judd explained the exercise which was supposed to bring the couple closer as, “The point is, we’re always so quick to say, ‘That hurt my feelings,’ so how about being as quick to say, ‘I really appreciated it when you turned the TV down so we could hear each other.’ Dario and I do an appreciation every day,” Judd said.
The couple married in December 2001 at a castle in Scotland after a two-year engagement. It is sad to see another Hollywood couple to go to waste.
Judd has been rumored to have an interest in running for senator against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Hope this does not ruin her political career who according to her mother, she has a passion for. “I can tell you she’s very interested in changing the world. And she knows that politics unfortunately right now is one of the ways she could do that,” her mother, Naomi said.
