By Emmanuel Omona PaOkech

Aruu County Member of Parliament , Samuel Odonga Otto has said he is not in support of the Members of parliament’s demand to recall Parliament.

Otto says  that it will be a waste of time for the MPs to seek for the signatures to recall the house.

“I see it as a waste of time since there are a lot of controversies in the Parliament now following the arrest of some colleagues of ours”, Otto explained.

Odonga Otto also claims that some of the MPs have been intimidated by the arrests made adding that though they are endorsing their signature ,“they are having  different feelings about it ”, Otto said.

The MPs want parliament recalled to discuss the standoff between parliament and the executive as well as the arrest of their colleagues over the comments that they made on Nebanda’s death among other issues.

The parliamentary rule of procedure says that in case of an urgent matter in the country, MPs are supposed to raise 125 signatures for them to have parliament recalled and discuss the matter.

The petitioners who include Joseph Ssewungu, Gerald Karuhanga and Gilbert Oulanya say that they now have more than 130 signatures and they will be ready to meet the speaker before the end of this week.

Mps should go on provided they are following the right procedure. Already they have got more than the required 125 signatures
