Dr. Isaac Atiku the Regional Blood Bank officer for Arua district has said that a total of 2273 units of blood have been collected in Arua Regional Blood Bank.
The blood was collected in a blood donation campaign to save lives that has just ended in the district.
Dr. Atiku said they had targeted to collect 2,900 units of blood to meet the ever growing demand for units of blood in the region.
Atiku told the press that they supply units of blood to 11 hospitals and health centers in the region including Kuluva hospital, Nebbi, Moyo, Maracha, Nyapea, Angal and Pakwach health centre.
He says Arua referral hospital takes the biggest share of the units collected compared to other health centers in the region.
