Apac District Education Officers have passed a resolution that would only allow the admission of children who passed through Nursery section.
The resolution that was passed through a parents and Teachers Association in Amwodo-gar primary school in Apac district have resolved to admit only children who have gone through Nursery school to Primary One in 2013.
The Apac Education Officers also want to increase more teachers to Amwodo-gar primary school which has a fair population of 807 pupils saying that the only 11 teachers cannot teach many pupils.
They said the changes are made as one of the ways to boost the quality of education in Apac district.
The Head Teacher of the school, Paul Odur Odyek while addressing the parents and local leaders attributed the poor education performance of the school to inadequate school facilities, parents’ negative attitude towards the education of their children and low government support.
The pupils in Amwodo-gar primary school in Apac district are still learning in classes that were constructed by parents in 1975 when the school was established.
The parents of the school also agreed to contribute money for building two houses for teachers and pit latrines at a tune of 4 million shillings.
