Andrew Kananura a city businessman accused of torturing his worker Badru Kateregga has been remanded to Luzira prison.
City Hall Court Magistrate Juliet Hatanga remanded Desh since the magistrates court has no jurisdiction to hear murder charges.
Kananura was arrested by police last Thursday at Entebbe International Airport on his arrival from the United Kingdom. He was whisked to the Special Investigations Unit at Kireka, a Kampala suburb from where he appeared to court.
Kananura’s lawyer Geoffrey Kandeebe however condemned the way he was arrested at the airport since he had voluntarily returned to Uganda.
Desh was charged alongside four other people including Mr Raymond Kananura, Mr Cyrus Maganda, Mr Samuel Muzulewa and Mr Jacob Onyango.
Kananura is accused of torturing Badru Kateregga, his employee at Panamera Bar and Restaurant Kampala.Katerega died due to torture.
Desh reportedly dragged Kateregga to the security room, stripped him naked before hitting him with a club as the bar attendant screamed for help.
