Following the fracas allegedly caused by Norbert Mao-the President of the Democratic Party and his Italian Farmers from Kenya, the Amuru District Police Commander Jacinto Oburu has called on the local leaders in Amuru to sensitize the local residents on how they can resolve land wrangles without causing bloodshed.
Oburu told the press on Tuesday that there should be a better way that residents should resolve land wrangles without using violence.
He noted that Amuru district records land wrangles every day which he said can be reduced if the local leaders sensitize the local residents on how they should address land issues.
“The religious leaders, the Cultural leaders and the local leaders should come together and teach the local leaders about taking the law in their hands and using courts of law”, Oburu explained.
Oburu also thinks that many residents waste a lot of time, money and their lives when they do not resolve land issues peacefully.
