Adam Kalungi ,the boyfriend of the late Butaleja MP  Cerina Nebanda over the weekend made a confession on Nebanda’s death before the Criminal Investigations department in Kireka.Kalungi revealed that Cerina Nebanda took drugs the wrong way and it was hard to save her life although he made a lot of efforts to save her life.

Kalungi said that on that fateful day he returned home and found the young legislator in a bad situation and when he inquired to from her, he discovered that Cerina Nebanda Uganda’s young legislator had taken the drugs the wrong way which made her develop complications.

Kalungi told a press conference at the Special Investigations Unit in Kireka that Nebanda used cocaine and heroin together. He said that Nebanda had that day switched to heroin and taken it the wrong way by sniffing it.

Kalungi said he called in a doctor to save her life and also called many friends in panic.He added that when the condition necessitated life support, he drove Nebanda to Mukwaya General Hospital to save her life but it was too late.

Kalungi added that he ran to Kenya after realizing that he could be in trouble given the dignity of the deceased.
The Kenyan police tracked Kalungi who has been on the run for more than a fortnight and arrested him. He was handed over by a team of Kenyan police officers to a team of Uganda officers led by Musana at Malaba border post.

Kalungi is now the most heavily-guarded suspect at the Special Investigations Unit in Kireka. On Sunday police made a second search at his home in Buziga .They recovered some of Nebanda’s items  at his place.

The mother of the late Cerinah Nebanda Arioru, Alice Namulwa Mukasa has however rejected a confession by Adam Suleiman Kalungi that the she died from a drug overdose.

“If they were taking the same drug, how come one party is dead and another ran to Nairobi without [the drug having] any effect on him? How come the information he is talking about came out before the postmortem that said Nebanda had died from those drugs? It appears there is something he is not saying,” Namulwa stated over after Kalungi’s confession
