60 people died in Ivory Coast on New Year’s Day in a stampede when people were returning back home at 1:00am. According to news agency said most of the dead were 15 years and below.
The country’s Youth Minister, Alain Lobognon said the dead included 26 children, 28 women and six men. 46 other people were injured although 2 were seriously injured in the stampede. The country is under going a three-day mourning which was declared by Ivory Coast’s president, President Alassane Ouattara.

It is believed that the most injured and dead are children of 15 years and below.
