A 36 -year- old woman in Nebbi district claims to have the cure for HIV/AIDS Cure.Kalsum Aliru administers a concoction of boiled water and the back of a certain tree to her patients and claims it is cure to the world’s puzzling virus- HIV.

Hundreds of people are flocking  Twahid Mosque, in Nebbi Town to seek treatment from the herbalist .The numbers are however not as many as those who flocked Tanzania to get the herbs of  Babu Loliondo, a man who claimed to have a herbal cure for HIV.

Kalsum Aliru prepares her medicine in four source pans and she charges sh. 500 for a cup of the herb and sh.50, 000 for the HIV.

Kulsum says she treats her patients under the guidance of her two year old child.Her child reportedly told her to come and save the people of Nebbi from sickness like HIV and cancer .She will however go to another place when her child directs her to go to another place.

She claims that her herbs are much better than the ARVs but health authorities have cautioned the public to continue taking their ARVs .

Dr Jerry Opoki of Nebbi hospital have told HIV patients that there is no known drug that can cure HIV/AIDS. “I advise those who are on ARVs to continue taking and those who have not to enroll, otherwise this people wants to make money in the name of HIV/AIDS,” Dr Opoki told journalists
