A 30 year old woman has been arrested and detained at Lira central police station  for allegedly murdering a 23- year -old woman over the weekend in Lira municipality.

The woman is said to have been arrested after a search by the residents who felt concerned  and handed her to the police in Lira district.

The police spokesperson for central North, Mansur Suwed has identified the suspect as Betty Akello.

Suwed said that Akello is suspected to have murdered Suzan Acen on Saturday.

He said that Akello will be tried in Court tomorrow as soon as her file is ready.
