12-year-old Jordan Green committed suicide after being expelled from school.
Green was expelled after hurling chairs round a room, sworn at staff and threatened them. He was first excluded from school for a day but his behavior worsened. It was increased to five days and eventually expelled him. He told his mother of the ban and told him, :Have a nice life mum, I just feel like killing myself,” he eventually did.
Ms Green said she tried calling her son later on, “He wouldn’t answer his phone and I thought “he obviously doesn’t want to speak to me.” He went back home at 8pm and said, “I assumed that he wasn’t home. I thought he was playing with his friends.” His body was found on June 27 2012.
The trouble begun when his father left his mother. At Harrogate High School, his behavior worsened, causing him to be excluded from lessons on several occasions. The vice principal Ann Francis said staff had had numerous meetings to decide how to help Jordan, who was academically adept but regularly disrupted classes and swore at teachers.
