As thousands of Ugandans trek  to  Kololo Airstrip grounds to celebrate Uganda’s Golden jubilee, many have remained at their places of work.

All places of work in downtown Kampala , Nakasero, park yard, Owino market and Kiseka market among others have remained open  with people carrying out their normal shopping even though some shops have remained closed.

People have cited the tough economic situation where they need to work harder including today than celebrating in Kololo.

“I have nothing to celebrate about ,I need to work and get what my children will feed on today ,but I am happy about Uganda’s Independence golden jubilee” said one of the traders in downtown Kampala

Else where thousands of police personnel’s and the army have been deployed in all parts of Uganda’s capital Kampala to keep peace as some Africa’s heads of states joins Uganda celebrate the Golden jubilee at Kololo airstrip.
