“This was so great,” Lugazi manager Henry Odong said after the 3-2 victory over Gresham, Ore., in a consolation game Tuesday. Players include Justine Makisimu, Ronald Olaa, Daniel Alio and Felix Enzama.

Upon entering, the players were optimistic that they would win the game. Each team has seven hits and after watching a previous game, Odong said wanted was for the team to make contact because “one of the biggest challenges we had was hitting.” “I’m thankful we could come here,” Odong said. “This win was so great.”

After tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom,  Uganda grabbed the lead in the fifth when Olaa scored the winning run from second when Oregon shortstop Brett Falkner’s throw to first in an attempt to complete a double play went wild.
