Tooro’s queen mother Best Kemgisha was robbed of Shs150m (USD 60,000) in the month of March 2011 ,Nakawa Grade One court heard on Tuesday
The queen mother lost the money in question to three men whom she gave the money as she tried to register her Non Governmental Organisation ,Tooro Kingdom Women Association with the UN and hiring a bullion van for the transportation of goods that would be used in the transactions between the UN and the NGO.
Ibrahim Nsimbe together with Dr. Martin Hoods and one Dr. Jonathan appeared before the Nakawa grade one magistrate Patrick Wekeasa and denied the charges.
The three allegedly claimed to be UN agents and got the money from the queen under false pretense.
According to state witness, Nsimbe received USD55, 000 at DFCU bank in the month of July 2011 from Best Kemigisha and two other bundles of USD2, 500 each at different times from the same bank as indicated by the bank documents.
