Former Kampala mayor Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala has this time survived the appointments committee at parliament which vets all persons appointed by president Museveni in different departments.

Our source has revealed that president Museveni again appointed Ssebaggala as a presidential advisor on special duties a position which is does not need one to appear before appointments committee at parliament.

The source also says that last year the appointments committee refused to approve Ssebaggala as the minister without portfolio due to lack of academic papers.

The source quoted Ssebaggala says that “This time, am very sure that I will be in charge of advising president Museveni on special duties because am not going to appear before the appointments committee at parliament for scrutiny. Am also happy that president Museveni re-appoints me in another place,” He noted

“To be re-appointed again by Mr. Museveni means that I have enough qualification to serve in his office, those who always say that I don’t have enough qualifications to serve this country have beef on me” He added

Last year the appointments committee at parliament blocked Ssebaggala to serve in president Museveni cabinet saying that he did not have academic papers to serve in cabinet.

All persons appointed by president Museveni have to be vetted by the appointments committee at parliament chaired by the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga.
