Robin Van Persie has joined Manchester United (Man U) after leaving Arsenal.

His complete transition is going to be concluded today, Thursday, after Arsenal and Man U reached an agreement over Van Persie’s sale to Manchester United.

Its not clear how much Van Persie will be earning while at the club or how much it cost Man U to buy him from Arsenal. However, according to British media, Arsenal wanted 20 million pounds ($31.3 million) for its Netherlands captain.

The announcement was made yesterday, Wednesday by both clubs as they announced on their websites.

“Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United,” the Arsenal statement said. “Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree to personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.”

Van Persie is currently undergoing a medical examination at old trafford.

Robin Van Persie joined Arsenal in 2004 from Feyenoord and has been the Premier League’s top scorer last season with 30 goals and he is remaining with one year to leave.

He refused to renew his contract because according to him, he didn’t like the direction in which the club was heading. Since 2005, Arsenal hasn’t won any trophy and several key players have been leaving the club.

Among them are midfieldes Cesc Fabregas joining Barcelona, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy leaving the club too.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger planned for a future without Van Persie by signing French striker Olivier Giroud and German forward Lukas Podolski in the close season.

Manchester United plays its season opener against Everton on Monday.

With Van Persie in Man U, Man U will become a formiddable team. Rooney and Van Persie possess the potential to provide United with the two-man strike-force that enabled United to win the Champions League in 2008.
