Principal accountant of Prime Minister’s Office, Geoffrey Kazinda faces 130 counts of fraud cases after his being re-arrested according to detectives. Government is said to have lost sh5 billion due to the fraud tendencies of Kazinda.

Kazinda has been rearrested after his police bond was cancelled. Detective found more forged documents relating to the sh5 billion fraud case in the office of the Prime Minister.

He went to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Kibuli to answer his bond at 10am but was told it had been cancelled.

Kazinda’s re arrest was confirmed by the acting leader of government business, Daudi Migereko yesterday told Parliament “I just received a call from CID boss Grace Akullo that she has got all information and evidence needed and Kazinda has been rearrested,” Migereko said.

Eight Office of Prime Minister officers have so far been arrested and interrogated over allegations of fraud. Detectives recently questioned the new NDA boss, Gordon Ssematiko on allegations of mismanagement of human and non-human resources that led to financial loss.

The National Drug Authority (NDA) is one of the government agencies that are being investigated by the police over suspected mismanagement of funds and fraud.
