Nsereko Muhammad, Kampala Central MP was released after five hours of arrest yesterday on police bond without charge, Daily Monitor reported.

Nsereko was arrested yesterday at the Central police station over allegedly mobilizing people to attack a city bank. He refused to offer a statement at the police and was later released.

Ibin Ssenkumbi, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the arrest was in relation to an ongoing investigation. “Police intelligence officers got information that he was mobilizing people to attack Crane Bank because there is an investgaiton in which he is implicated, we were proactive and arrested,” Ssenkumbi said.

Nsereko earlier this week said he is not involved in any fraud and denied being arrested earlier this week. “I have not been arrested or charged anywhere. I walked in two banks and did my transactions for my business. I withdrew sh17.5m and even exchanged dollars from Equity and Crane Bank. Those who are spreading the rumors just want to deter me from doing my work by tarnishing my name in public,” Nsereko said.
