Retired Major General Mugisha Muntu will officially started campaigning for FDC presidency today.
According to his campaigning manager Livingstone Kizito, the first campaign rally is to be held today in Iganga from where they will head to other parts of the country.
Mugisha Muntu is competing against Tororo County MP Godfrey Ekanya and leader of opposition in parliament Nandala Mafabi.
The party electoral commission chairperson Dan Mugalula has said that the campaigns start today and will end on 22 November after which the election of the FDC president will follow.
The three are required to resign their current positions according to the the party rules. FDC Spokesperson Wafula Ogutu recently said that they will be required to resign their current positions first for the period they will be campaigning and will only resume after elections.
Nandala Mafabi will have to drop his post as leader of opposition in parliament, Godfrey Ekanya will drop his opposition as shadow finance minister and Gen. Muntu will have to resign as the party mobilizer.
