Kipsiro is going for two runs one which is taking place tomorrow at 12:45pm in the men’s 5000m heats and Saturday at 9:30pm in the Men’s 5000m final. “I feel incomplete without this medal,” said Kipsiro last year as he began preparations for this year’s games.
Kipsiro finished Saturday in the tenth position after he was tripped at 7:36.00 minutes into the 10,000 metre final and despite his best efforts, he did not manage to recover in time to win the race.
The men’s 5000m is the only event where Uganda managed to fill its quota of three runners. He will be competing alongside fellow country men, Geoffrey Kusuro and Abraham Kiplimo.
Kiplimo is one of Team Uganda’s juniors while Kusuro was at the Beijing Olympics where Kipsiro finished fourth.
With failures heading Uganda’s way straight from Tusker Project fame and Big Brother Africa 7, a medal from this race will come as a big relief.
Good luck Kipsiro.
