The Crackers a renown comedy group in Kampala has moved a step closer to being known by the whole of Africa if all goes well.
Crackers manager Jonathan Kyeyo is in South Africa at the invitation of Multichoice to discuss a deal that will see the Crackers weekly Mic Check comedy shows screened on DSTV.
According to Kyeyo, the discussions to conclude this deal are in final stages and he is sure the results will be positive.
He has also assured that if the deal is signed, it will not affect the one secured with NTV Uganda and the programmes will continue as usual. He also promised a hefty pay for the crackers if the deal is signed.
Meanwhile, the youthful Kyeyo is set to start an annual show dubbed Africa’s Battle of the funniest in which he will be bringing Africa’s funniest comedians to Kampala.
He has so far finalised a deal with top Kenyan Comedian Eric Omondi, who also happens to be one of Africa’s most respected comedians. Kyeyo will be Omondi’s sole representative and promoter in Uganda.
He is also to sign a deal with South Africa’s comedian Loyisa Gola to be his representative in East Africa.
This year’s Africa’s Battle of the funniest is slated to take place on August 31, 2012.
