Opposition members of parliament have said that they do not expect much from the new cabinet since president Museveni has reappointed all ministers who were censured by parliament because of corruption.
The shadow justice and constitutional affairs minister Medard Segoona together with Luweero woman MP Brenda Nabukenya argue that there is zero commitment of fighting corruption if those eliminated are reinstated back to cabinet.
” The only new thing he has done is to appoint young people like Ida Nantaba and Najjemba Muyinda to cabinet .” said one of the MPs
The MPs cited officials like Mwesigwa Rukutana and Sam Kutesa as unworthy to be in cabinet because of the cases of corruption they have been involved in.
Other members however appreciated the new cabinet and are expectant of more results in the fight against corruption.
“For me I don’t have any problem with president Museveni’s new cabinet but my concerned is on Tarsis Kabwegyere who has been brought back to the politics of young people. Mr Museveni should stop giving political responsibilities to aged person,” Said Joseph Balikudembe MP Busiro south (DP)
Kyankwazi country mp Samuel Semugaba says they are hopeful that this time the new cabinet will help in the fight against corruption as per the NRM Manifesto.

Why appoint off-layers like Kabwegyere, what value does he add to Uganda’s devt except sucking it dry! Are all young and brainy Ugandans dead? This shows that tha president has no good intentions for this country, what about those who were implicated in scandals of corruption? This contry does not cease to amuse with m7.
We were getting used to our Minister of tourism Hon Kamuntu who seemed more proactive and now we have a new one to get used to. Seems that’s the way life works.
