Yesterday President Yoweri Museveni met and held discussions with officials from the three main oil companies ; Cnooc, Total and Tullow oil which involved in oil exploration in the Lake Albert Basin region.
The aim of the meeting was to discus the proposal to create a government Lake Albert Development Committee to oversee and steer an agreed Basin Development Plan and also target a signature of a joint development agreement between government and operators.
Museveni discussed with the oil officials how to addressing various issues including outlining the operators’ vision for the basin wide development.
Minister of Finance Maria Kiwanuka , Abraham Byandala the Minister for Works , James Mutende the State Minister for Industry and Technology among other officials attended the meeting.
