Though the debate of whether President Yoweri Museveni will contest for presidency again in 2016 is not yet clarified,it is clear that some National Resistance Movement (NRM) members still believe that Museveni is still irreplaceable.
“I don’t believe that there is anybody among us, the original revolutionaries, who will succeed President Museveni. Anybody above 50 years right now will be deceiving himself to say that he or she will succeed Museveni”, said Colonel Fred Mwesigye a historical member of the NRM at the beginning of this year.
Sheema North MP, Dr Elioda Tumwesigye over the weekend in partnership with the district youth launched Museveni’s 2016 presidential bid .
“As you know, the youth are the majority voters; therefore, if they throw their weight behind the president together with other Ugandans, the president will win,” MP Tumwesigye said after the launch
Museveni who was in the district to commission Kihunda health center III in Kagango however never commented on the launch of his other term which is still causing great conflict in and outside the NRM party.
Museveni just appreciated the people of Sheema for voting him in 2012.He promised to extend electricity to Kihunda health centre III and surrounding areas, and an ambulance for the district.
