By Mirembe Martina

Fagil Mandy has been named and approved as the new chairperson of the Uganda National Examinations Board.

Fagil Mandy is replacing Prof. Lutalo Bbosa who occupied the position for a period of nine years and he will hold the position for a period of three years.

Prof. Bbosa’s term expired last year October after he served as the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) boss for 9 years.

Mandy assumed his role yesterday, Monday at UNEB’s offices in Kyambogo.

He is known as a former commissioner in the ministry of education and sports. While accepting his new role, Mandy vowed to work with other Government institutions to turn the image of the institution, whose method of assessment has come under scrutiny over pre-entry exams established by Makerere University law students.

“I come with speed, somersaults and ground experience. I am intolerant to non-performers and politicians out there who think they can mess up UNEB; stand warned!” he said.

They always give such tough talks when assuming these offices but after six months you see them back tracking on all they said.
