The Electoral Commission has dispatched polling materials to Lwengo district for the Bukoto-South by-elections scheduled to take place on Thursday July 12.
According to the commission Chairman, Eng Badru Kiggundu, some of the polling materials will arrive in the 66 polling stations in the constituency by today evening and the voting exercise will kick off at 7:00am and end at 5:00pm.
The vote counting will start at 5:00pm in all the 66 polling stations and the results will be forwarded to the tally centre from where the final winner will be announced.
The campaigns ended yesterday (Tuesday) with only four candidates in the race after three withdrawing. Nsambu promised to supply every homestead in the constituency with solar power, provide lunch to students and also promote football talent among the youth.
DP’s Matia Nsubuga promised to transmit electricity to the constituency by December if he is voted into power.
Four candidates in the race are NRM’s Alintuma Nsambu, DP’s Matia Nsubuga, Julius Ssentamu from FDC and Dan Katula -Independent.
