Buganda caucus MPs are set to award the Bukoto East MP Florence Namayanja (DP) for failing  the ruling National Resistance Movement party in the recent Bukoto south by-elections.

During the Buganda caucus retreat held at Katomi resort beach in Garuga, the proposal to award Namayanja was moved by  Masaka district woman Member of Parliament Kase Mubanda (NRM) and seconded by all Buganda MPs.

Namayanja (DP) was the field commander in Bukoto south by-elections were DP’s Mathias Nsubuga defeated NRM’s Alintuma Nsambu hands down.

The caucus boss Godfrey Kiwanda (NRM) said that the caucus executive will decide when Namayanja will be given an award.

The minister of youth in Buganda (Mengo) government Florence Bagunywa Nkalubo revealed that Buganda kingdom will also award the Buganda youth who played a major role in the 2009 Kayunga protest.

Nkalubo told scribes that the purpose of awarding these youth is to give them a new beginning .The award ceremony will take place at the end of August this year in Boston (USA).
