Bad Black is set to appeal against the verdict that was given on Thursday by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire over the embezzlement and fraud that was filed against her by David Greenhalgh.
Black got a sentence of seven years; four for embezzlement and 18 months each for the two counts of conspiracy to defraud. She will however serve only four years because she will be serving the three sentences concurrently.
The ruling delivered by Catherine Bamugemereire at the Anti Corruption Court in Kololo today on Wednesday was based on the fact that Bad Black was aware that the money she was using was not from her personal account .Bad Black is said to have used the £2.4million to fund her lavish lifestyle in the city.
Bad Blacks lawyer Caleb Alaka says that he intends to appeal though Bad Black’s counterpart Meddie Sentongo says that he is ready to serve his 18 months sentence. His Isaac Walukagga on Thursday said he will not appeal against the conviction and sentence
Though Justice Bamugemereire decided that the two will not pay the money the two swindled from Davashan Company , Greenhalgh’s lawyer, Patrick Farah said that they already filed a civil suit for recovery of Greenhalgh’s money.
