Police sprayed teargas and fired bullets in the air as For God and My Country (4GC) pressure group launched in Kabale district over the weekend.
People were forced to close their shops and others escape for their safety as police tried to disrupt the rally.Eight police officers were injured in the process.
Chaos erupted after A4C members announced that they would march through the streets of Kabale Town.Police says that it had allowed them to use one way but they neglected the directive and were set to move as they desired.
A communiqué from the police spokesperson, Mr Asuman Mugenyi says that it was A4C fans who started throwing stones at policemen provoking them to use tear gas used to disperse them.
While addressing crowds ,FDC presiden asked Ugandans to join the 4GC campaign to liberate their country from the corrupt regime. Besigye added that the fact that people have started voting NRM leaders out of power is an indicator that people are now mature politically.
