Former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya’s mother was yesterday laid to rest at his home in Lwantama, Wakiso district.

Francisica Nabulo, 87, succumbed to a stroke at Mulago hospital last week.

President Museveni and several dignitaries paid tribute to the late.

President Museveni said that Nabulo was an inspiration to the Ugandan community and unreservedly raised children who have contributed to National development.

“She was the kindest, wisest and most thoughtful person. She touched and impacted on the lives of many. The strength and power of her personality are unforgettable. She leaves an outstanding legacy and the loss is felt by many,” President Museveni.

In his last words to his mother, Prof. Bukenya said that he loves his mother so much and she was his best friend. He said that she might be gone, but she is there with him and he will remain with the property and items she has been using until when he dies.

Nabulo was hailed for her efforts to educate her children who have been of great importance to the country.
