The much anticipated Mutumba Martin has left and gone back to Sweden ahead of Uganda Cranes game against Congo set to take place on Saturday.

Mutumba was injured during the Uganda Vs Senegal game on Saturday 9th which saw Uganda and Senegal draw with 1-1 win.

He was declared unable to play in Saturday’s game due to his injury and decided to go back to Sweden.

With Mutumba gone, Uganda Cranes has to find a replacement soon after dismissing 7 players ahead of the match against Senegal last week.

The remaining players are still training tirelessly hoping to beat the Congo Brazaville in Saturday’s match which will be held at Mandela National Stadium.

Uganda dropped one point in the FIFA rankings from 93 to 94 after the game against Angola two weeks ago. Over the last two years, Uganda’s ranking in FIFA has kept on reducing steadily. in 2010, Uganda was at the 80th position while in 2011, it reduced to 89. At the start of the year, Uganda went up the hill to the 82nd position and now, it is at the 94th position.

Congo is in the 83rd position.
