The minister of state of foreign Affairs ,Okello Oryemu has expressed dissatisfaction to the Ministry of Finance over the cut of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs budget in the next financial year.

Oryemu told reporter at parliament today that  that the finance ministry cut 1.5billion shillings out of the 66billion the ministry wanted for the 2012/13 financial year.

“We want the ministry of finance to return our money. We had a budget of sh66billion to address all the problems come 2012/13 financial year. The ministry of finance to cut 1.5 billion from our budget means that it doesn’t respect us yet our ministry is the image of this Uganda abroad” Oryemu noted

“The ministry should appreciate the importance of our ministry. Other countries invest a lot of dollars in the ministry of foreign Affairs because they know the work the ministry does as far as the development of country is concerned” He added

Hon Oryemu further revealed that the image of Uganda abroad to attract investors and tourists to come in the country is done by the ministry of foreign Affairs added that the ministry of finance should take foreign Affairs serious.

They should facilitate us like other countries do to enable our ministry to delivering successfully. The popularity president Museveni have abroad make Uganda a great country and it’s all done by the ministry of foreign Affairs.

“Am not fully facilitated like other colleagues (ministers), the hotels I stay doesn’t suit a person like me even the vehicle am driving is 7years old” He stressed
