Mazen Mroue MTN’s new CEO

MTN Group Ltd on Saturday  named Mazen Mroué as the new Chief Executive Officer of its Ugandan unit.

Mroué  has replaced Themba Khumalo. Khumalo has been named MTN’s operations executive for 13 countries including Afghanistan, Yemen, Botswana, Zambia, Swaziland and Sudan.

Mazen Mroué was the Chief Executive Officer MTN Liberia and before that he was the Chief Information Officer at MTN Ghana.

Mroué has more than 16 years of professional experience in telecommunications and information technology management, and is a graduate of the Harvard University Executive Program in Leadership Development.

Mroue’ took over office on Friday  where Uganda’s ICT Minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda was the chief guest.Rugunda thanked  outgoing Khumalo for his leadership and urged him to be an Ambassador for Uganda at his next posting.
