Human rights activists have warned the Bagisu people over the forceful circumcision to non Bagisu.

The director investigations and legal services, Ruth Ssekindi said that they have registered complaints over the forceful act at Jinja and Soroti offices added that they are considering working with police to have the perpetrators brought to book.

“Its not bad to circumcise people because its part of their culture but circumcising the non Bagishu using a forceful ways abuses peoples rights” Ssekandi stressed

The Bagishu in Mbale are hunting for all uncircumcised men in the area using forceful ways before the circumcision season ends.

    Thank God that this act against human rights is being taken seriously. Please people, help the police and Human Rights Commission by pointing out the culprits ti face the law and be an example to the rest. The Bagishu can carry out their tradition as long as they do not coerce other people into this act; they choose to hold thi in high regard, that up to them, they should not infringe on other cultures’ and innicent people’s rights.
