UEFA Euro games 2012 Group C battled it out yesterday with Italy Vs Ireland and Croatia Vs Spain and Spain and Italy emerged as the winners of Group C with 7 points for Spain and Italy with 5 points.

The match between Italy and Ireland kicked off with Ireland hyped to win after they lost several matches before as Italy warmed up for the win at the end of the match. Italy stepped it up in when they scored the first goal in the first half putting Ireland on tenterhooks.

Here are some of the highlights of the game.

Ireland win a free-kick out on the right flank but Duff stands over it, 3′.

Doyle nearly connects with the cross, 4′.

Italy on the attack again, but Di Natale is punished for a high boot, 10′.

Doyle makes a superb challenge on Pirlo and Ireland counter, but Whelan over hits the final pass and Italy survive, Pirlo walks away gingerly, 15′.

Doyle and Chiellini clash heads and Ireland win a free-kick The corner goes short and eventually finds its way to Balzaretti, who blasts it unceremoniously into row Z, 18′.

Italy are all over the place here but Ireland had five attackers on three defenders there and have won a corner, 24′.

Ireland win a free-kick for a shove on Keane from Barzagli, 26′.

Balzaretti gets a yellow card for a hilarious rugby tackle as Ireland threatened to spark a counter, 28′.

A goal for Italy and in the aftermath, Cassano unleashes a shot that Given spills for a corner, 35′.

Italy have a free-kick, 37′.

Italy win another free-kick out on the left and Ireland are lucky to escape, 39′.

Ireland win a free-kick as Chiellini knocks Doyle down, 44′.

Chiellini looks to have suffered a significant injury as he is challenged for the ball with Doyle, he may have torn a muscle but he is able to walk off as Juve team-mate Bonucci replaces him, 56′ & 57′

Cassano wins a free-kick just inside the Ireland half, 57′.

Cassano is replaced by Diamanti, 62′.

McGeady is replaced by striker Shane Long, 65′.

Doyle makes a good run down the right and De Rossi brings him down and takes a yellow card, 71′.

Balotelli replaces Di Natale, 74′.

Walters replaces Doyle, 76′.

Duff is penalised for bringing down Diamanti and Whelan is incensed, 83′.

Keane replaced by Cox, 86′.

Balotelli wins a corner from Dunne with a long shot and scores an overhead kick from the corner, 90′.
